The Evolution of JamGddss aka Why Branding is Important!
Brand yourself. This is what I kept reading in various groups I belong to on facebook. Brand yourself. But I’m a Jamberry consultant. Haven’t they already done that for me? I couldn’t have been more wrong. Jamberry branded Jamberry. Aimie needed to brand herself.
When I originally signed up to sell Jamberry, I choose my website alias poorly. What a lesson I learned! Seriously, what was I thinking picking DixonsDelights….Yeah…I don’t even know what I was thinking except I was SO excited to be starting my new adventure. I didn’t think that the name of my catalog alias would be that important. Until I really started trying to build my social media presence. I sadly don’t have a logo from the original name I choose for myself. Wait…that’s not a bad thing!
About a year into my Jamberry Journey, I came across this facebook group. The Socialite Suite. These ladies are a group of direct sellers from all different brands that support each other, empower each other, and are trying to change the face of direct sales with attraction marketing instead of spamming tactics that a lot of sales people use. The Socialite Suite is run by this simply amazing lady named Brenda Ster. You can find her on line at the SassySuite. She will teach you everything you need to know from creating a funnel to starting your own blog. She and her team of incredible peeps are there for you every step of the way. Now, back to the suite life I found.
These ladies were my jam. I NEEDED these ladies in my life. I NEEDED to learn from them. I wanted to go sit on that pink couch in the lounge and just talk all day long.
But I was scared. So I sat back and just read. I slowly started learning that I needed to rebrand myself. I needed to be Aimie. I’m not Jamberry. Jamberry just happens to be a product I ABSOLUTELY adore.
JamGddss was born and I LOVE HER!
I slowly started learning bits and pieces about things I needed to do and bits and pieces about me too! I began by thinking about what I love. I started changing user names to match my new alias. You can now find me on most social media platforms by searching for JamGddss. I bought my first training based on what others were talking about in the facebook group. I needed to learn to make my own images. The day I learned how to do a glitter overlay was an eyeopener for me. I was still scared about posting my own images and getting out there. Sigh…. Then around November of last year, I decided I had….HAD to get off that couch and DO something to grow my business. I’m so much more than, well, honestly, I was allowing myself to be. I took advantage of a logo special Brenda’s design team was having and my unicorn logo was born. In the words of Michelle ( the designer I was working with) ” It’s like cotton candy! I could just eat this up!”
I didn’t stop there. I learned about Pinterest and Instagram. I started to realize that I need all my social media to MATCH. Across ALL platforms. Say what? I had NO CLUE! NONE! One thing I learned as I was going through all of this is that I sold myself short. When Blogging Boot Camp was offered up, I spoke to my husband about it and he told me to go for it. I grabbed that bull by the horns and immediately said “What the hell did I just do! I don’t even post regularly to ig, fb, or pinterest!”
Turns out, 4 months later, I’m still scared. I’m okay with that. I’m still trying to make all my posts look similar, yet different. I’m still learning all things hastags and where/when to use them. I know I don’t write as well as I would like too. Trying to decide what this blog was going to be was an absolute mind boggle. After doing my online consult with Brenda and Michelle, I discovered that I still wasn’t where I wanted to be logo wise. You see I realized that I had to allow people in to get to know me. I needed to tap into my love of coffee, my love of butterflies, my unicorn. I wanted a way for people to know that this site and my Facebook VIP Group are places where we can get together, have a cup of coffee, hang out, have discussions, have fun, and show off our awesome Jamicures!
Finished. I fixed it myself using tools that Brenda and Michelle taught me. I have a recognizable logo, I have a recognizable watermark, I have a look all my own. You might know that I’m a Jamberry Consultant by trade but you will also soon know I’m that lady that also loves unicorns, butterflies, cats, and coffee. I have a fierce loyalty to family and friends. I love to read. I’m getting ready to move back to the midwest. I’m looking forward to learning how to ride a bike again at the age of 40! If you stick around long enough, you’re going to see this lady learn to love life again!
